Jaguar - Panthera onca

The jaguar is a large wild cat found primarily in Central and South America. It is the third-largest feline in the world, after the tiger and lion, and is the largest feline in the Americas. Jaguars have a distinctive golden-yellow coat covered in black spots and a short, stocky build.

Jaguars are apex predators and are known for their strength, agility, and powerful jaws. They are also excellent swimmers and often hunt in and around water sources. Jaguars are carnivorous and their diet includes a variety of prey, such as deer, peccaries, monkeys, birds, and fish.

Unfortunately, jaguars are considered a threatened species due to habitat loss, hunting, and human-wildlife conflict. Conservation efforts are underway to protect jaguar populations and their habitats, including the establishment of protected areas and efforts to reduce human-jaguar conflict.
